Acupuncture

How does acupuncture help?

Acupuncture uses small sterilized-disposable needles which cause a rise in endorphins, vasodilation of blood vessels that improve circulation, and balances the autonomic nervous system. As a result, you feel a deep sense of relaxation and calming of the mind, healing of damaged tissues, reduction of inflammation, and improved functioning of the organ systems in the body.

Acupuncture is often an effective therapy for other chronic disorders which have no clear explanation or origin.

What does it feel like?

Acupuncture consists of the gentle insertion and stimulation of thin, disposable, sterile needles at strategic points near the surface of the body in order to promote the circulation of Qi and adjust the imbalance of Yin and Yang. The needles are much finer than the familiar hypodermic needle. After the insertion of the needles, patients may feel the pressure or distention, which means the arrival of Qi, instead of feeling pain. Acupuncture has been proven to stimulate the release of opiate-like hormones and induce a deep state of relaxation, balance and healing.
